MOHEGAN ANNOUNCES ELECTION OF DIRECTORS

Uncasville, Connecticut, August 31, 2023 – Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority (“Mohegan”) is governed by a nine-member Management Board, whose members also comprise the Mohegan Tribal Council (the “Tribal Council”), the governing body of the Mohegan Tribe of Indians of Connecticut (the “Tribe”). Any change in the composition of the Tribal Council results in a corresponding change in Mohegan’s Management Board. The registered voters of the Tribe elect all members of the Tribal Council.

On August 28, 2023, the Tribe announced the results of a general election wherein four of the nine seats on the Tribal Council were chosen pursuant to staggered term provisions in the Tribe’s Constitution. Joseph M. Soper, Thayne D. Hutchins Jr., John G. Harris, and Kim Baker were elected as members of the Tribal Council. Each of these elected Tribal Council members will serve a four-year term, commencing October 2, 2023.

Joseph M. Soper, Thayne D. Hutchins Jr., and John G. Harris are currently members of the Tribal Council. Kim Baker will succeed Patricia A. LaPierre, who did not seek re-election, but will remain a member of the Tribal Council until her successor is seated on October 2, 2023. Mohegan is not aware of any material related transactions between the newly elected Tribal Council members and Mohegan. Information regarding the committees of the Management Board to which the newly elected Tribal Council members are named will be provided after the members are seated on any such committees.
